About Normandale
Bienvenue! Normandale French Immersion is one of six elementary schools within the nationally recognized Edina Public Schools district.
Normandale provides a personalized learning experience for students K-5 with opportunities including a maker space, school garden, service projects, and student leadership. Recent building enhancements have created flexible learning spaces where we offer students creative and innovative opportunities to learn core standards, as well as to grow personally in understanding themselves and how they learn best. We work to engage all students in the process of learning by having high expectations for all and providing support that helps students achieve at their highest potential.
Opening windows to other cultures
Normandale Elementary is a French immersion school, where the new language (French) is the medium of instruction as well as the object of instruction. Normandale students follow the same curricula as the district’s other elementary schools. However, at Normandale, students are immersed in French as they learn literacy, math, science, and social studies concepts. This unique language experience opens windows for students to new French speaking cultures and countries.
