Valley View Middle School has received LabelFrancÉducation, a quality seal granted by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs to schools that offer students enhanced instruction in the French language while also teaching other subjects in French.
Chris Griggs, social studies teacher at Edina High School, has been named the High School Teacher of the Year by Minnesota Council for the Social Studies.
Lindsey Smaka, science teacher at Edina High School, has been named the 2023 AFS-USA Global Educator of the Year. The AFS-USA Global Educator Award recognizes educators who have demonstrated excellence in integrating cultural diversity, global competence, and internationalized concepts into their instruction with the aim of cultivating global citizens.
Two Edina Public Schools teachers were nominated for the 2023 Minnesota Teacher of the Year program: Giovanna Margalli, Grade 4 teacher at Cornelia; and Emily Waage, ADSIS teacher at Highlands.
